'Abby & Brittany': Girls Speak Out Against Negative Media Attention

Normalcy is the name of the game for conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel, and it also seems to be a major theme behind their new reality series. "Abby & Brittany" follows the girls as they graduate from college and prepare for the next chapter in their shared lives, but it mostly shows how very ordinary they are, despite a somewhat extraordinary living situation.

"We don’t appreciate magazines, like, taking our story and making it theirs," the girls said. "We want to live normal, day-to-day lives just like everybody else."

Their mother agreed with the sentiment, adding, "People have to know that the stuff that they read isn’t always really what is truth."

Their hope is that this series can serve as their truth, showing how they live and function, and how very much like other 22-year-old young women they are.

"Abby & Brittany" continues next Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. ET on TLC.
