John Mayer, Katy Perry Dating? Pop Star Isn't His First Rebound Relationship

Say what you will about John Mayer, but you've got to hand it to him: the guy has a way with the ladies.

The smooth crooner may have a history of over-sharing (who could forget him telling Playboy that Jessica Simpson was like "sexual napalm" in the sack?), but he's still managed to date an impressive lineup of Hollywood's loveliest ladies, including the recently divorced Katy Perry.

In fact, we couldn't help but notice that a surprising number of Mayer's lady loves are newly single, as if the singer-songwriter were lurking around the corner, waiting to strum "Your Body is a Wonderland" at the ready to cure them of their breakup blues.

We might be on to something. In November 2010, a friend of Mayer's told The Huffington Post's Rob Shuter that "there is something about newly-divorced ladies that drives him nuts."
