Girls With Guns Flood Twitter As Conservatives Rally In Support Of Paul Ryan, Constitution

Bragging about your hunting prowess is nothing new, but bragging about your prepubescent daughter and her guns seems to be a more recent trend (this Buzzfeed item notwithstanding).

A Twitter outpouring of Second Amendment love began after Paul Ryan made a widely publicized stop at a Bass Pro Shops in Ohio Tuesday to buy his 10-year-old daughter, Liza, some camouflage hunting gear.

Ryan, who has three children, has been vocal about his family's love for hunting. In late August he told a campaign gathering that as a Catholic deer-hunter, he was "happy to be clinging to my guns and my religion."

After news of Ryan's stop broke online, some parents took to Twitter to wonder if a 10-year-old should be allowed to own and shoot a rifle.

Conservative pundit Michelle Malkin responded with her own "my daughter hunts" tweet, which prompted a flurry of like-minded posts from pro-hunting parents.

Malkin's website, Twitchy, gathered several of the responses and compiled a list of some of the "proud parents of kids who hunt/shoot tweet in defense of Paul Ryan." As The Atlantic Wire wrote, "here's what the Second Amendment looks like for the preteen set."

No word yet from President Barack Obama on whether his two daughters, Malia and Sasha, will be joining the ranks of armed tweens.

In a sit-down with the "View" on Tuesday, POTUS and FLOTUS told Barbara Walters and co. that their daughters' daily routines are just like many of their peers': homework, basketball practice and dinner together every night at 6:30 p.m.
