Gotham Chopra, who has been practicing meditation since the age of five, shares how he de-stresses in his GPS Guide below.
I learned to meditate when I was 5 years old and it's an essential part of my daily routine. For me, meditation is about rooting a sense of silence within and then taking it with me wherever I go the rest of the day.
I actually enjoy the sound of silence when I am meditating, running or riding my bike. I find the rest of life is so full of noise that's it's invigorating to have the absence of sound and just be mindful of it.
When I exercise, I observe my breathing and find that eventually a rhythm emerges that helps me stay centered and enter a state of silent witnessing.
My son -- his curiosity, playfulness and trust in those he loves.
I don't take myself so seriously and remind myself of the larger improbable context in which I exist. Oh, and I'm a sports fan and willingly hand myself over to things that I have no control over.
