Percy Harvin Kickoff Return Touchdown Opens Vikings-Lions Game (VIDEO)

Percy Opens Game With A Bang

Percy Harvin was five yards deep in his own end zone when he caught the opening kickoff from the Detroit Lions. Instead of taking a knee and giving Minnesota's offense the ball on the 20-yard line, Harvin made sure that Christian Ponder and Adrian Peterson had to wait just a little longer to take the field.

The former Florida Gators speedster began his return from the left side and then cut to his right after crossing the 5-yard line. Shifting into a higher gear, Harvin burst though a big hole and made his way toward the sideline near midfield. From there, he sprinted untouched to cap off a 105-yard touchdown return.

It was Harvin's fifth and longest career kick return for a touchdown. According to Michael Signora, only seven players in NFL history have more.

Later in the game, Marcus Sherels returned a punt for a touchdown as the Vikings went on to win, 20-13.

After the first four weeks of the season, the Vikings sit atop the NFC North with three wins which matches their total amount of wins last season.
