'The Lone Ranger' Trailer: Johnny Depp & Armie Hammer Ride On (VIDEO)

WATCH: First Trailer For 'The Lone Ranger'

Hi-yo, the first trailer for "The Lone Ranger" has arrived like a fiery horse with the speed of light.

Starring Armie Hammer as the title masked man and Johnny Depp as his faithful sidekick, Tonto, this version of "The Lone Ranger" is more like "The Defiant Ones," "Lethal Weapon" and "48 Hrs." than you might have expected.

"It's a dysfunctional buddy movie," director Gore Verbinski, who worked with Depp on the first three "Pirates of the Caribbean" films, told USA Today. "It's two guys who start literally and figuratively handcuffed together who end up on the same mission with completely different world views. They sort of rub off on one another. But they have plenty of disagreements."

The sprawling adventure -- which was shot over the course of 150 days -- cost Disney a reported $250 million to produce. Get your first taste of how that money was spent in the trailer above. (Depp's only line: "There come a time, kemo sabe, when good man must wear mask.")

"The Lone Ranger" is out in theaters on July 3, 2013. Watch the trailer in HD over at Apple.
