The campaign of Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) is dismissing a letter he allegedly wrote to his wife in 2003 that Miami gossip blogger Jose Lambiet recently published.

"We’re not going to comment on this crap, it’s just a garbage story," said West spokeswoman Michele Hickford to the website Politicker.

The letter, written while West was serving in Iraq, allegedly said the following:

The congressman proceeds tells his wife he expects certain intimate acts upon his return that will be “the standard and it is non-negotiable.” ... Then: “Angela, I need to know, are you committed to being my porn star?

“I do not want to hear ‘no’ or ‘we’ll see about that.’ I want my fantasies to be with you. God has authorized you and you only as my partner for intimacy and that is what I want.”

The West campaign also claimed that the blogger, Jose Lambiet, hadn't produced evidence of the letter. "He hasn’t produced a letter, so, as of now, there’s no letter," said Hickford.

Lambiet says that's not true:

What Hickford failed to tell Politicker, however, is that Gossip Extra emailed a PDF file of the letter to Allen West For Congress campaign manager Tim Edson. I also read sex-soaked passages from it to West’s D.C. spokeswoman, former WPTV-Channel 5 reporter Angela Melvin, whose main comment was: “Where did you get this?”

Rep. Debbie Wassmerman-Schultz (D-Fla.) has accused West of misogyny over his contributions to a biker magazine that regularly features naked women. After he won election in 2010, West called her "vile ... despicable ... not a lady" in a 2011 e-mail to colleagues.

West is in a tight race for re-election against Democrat Patrick Murphy.
