Today, representatives from The Huffington Post, The Skoll Foundation, CrowdRise, and knowledge partner McKinsey & Company appeared on HuffPost Live to announce the launch of The JobRaising Challenge, an innovative competition to help job-creating nonprofits gain prominence and scale through fundraising. Arianna, Sally Osberg (President, The Skoll Foundation), Robert Wolfe (Co-Founder, CrowdRise) and Lynn Taliento (Partner, McKinsey & Company) sat down with HuffPost Live's Josh Zepps to talk about the jobs crisis in America and how The JobRaising Challenge will help nonprofits nationwide provide solutions. The name "JobRaising" is meant to evoke America's barnraising spirit.
Interested nonprofits can apply at www.jobraising.com between now and November 15th. Between January 21st (Inauguration Day) and March 1st 2013, selected nonprofits will have the opportunity to compete for $250,000 worth of prize money offered by The Skoll Foundation, awarded based on how much an organization is able to fundraise through CrowdRise. The Huffington Post's platform and engaged community will be utilized to maximize impact.
