Female Student Found Restrained In Restroom Prompts Lockdown

Two suburban Chicago schools went on a hard lockdown Friday after a female student was found restrained inside a restroom in one of the schools.

The Daily Herald reports that Indian Trail Junior High School in Addison, Ill., was put on a three-hour lockdown after officials received reports that the female student was found restrained just before 10 a.m.

Police arrived and searched the school shortly after receiving that call and proceeded to search the school while about 1,400 students remained in their classrooms, according to ABC Chicago. No intruder was found during the search.

The juvenile student was taken to the hospital and no further details have been released about her condition, CBS Chicago reports.

Friday's lockdown marked the fourth at the west suburban school over the past month, according to NBC Chicago.

Army Trail, a nearby elementary school, was also put on a soft lockdown as police investigated the scene.

As of early Friday evening, Police have no suspects in custody and an investigation is ongoing.
