Carole Lombard Style Evolution: From A Young Beauty To Hollywood's Highest Paid Star (PHOTOS)

Posted: Updated:

Carole Lombard may have been one of the most beautiful women of all time, and she was also one of Hollywood's biggest actresses of the 1930s. The blonde bombshell (there really is no other way to describe her) had a sultry gaze and raw sex appeal akin to another American screen legend, Marilyn Monroe. In the late 1930's Lombard was the highest paid star in California and appeared in over 20 films.

The Indiana native looked amazing in anything, but often wore elaborate hats and big furs. Her husband, American actor Clark Gable, was also known for his Hollywood good looks. Together the couple was the Brangelina of their time (Lombard also happened to star in a 1941 film titled "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," although that film was a little lighter on the gunplay). Although Ms. Lombard tragically died in a plane crash at the young age of 33, had she lived a full life, she surely would have continued to star in big name films and wow on the red carpet with her fabulous fashion sense.

Today, in celebration of Ms.Lombard's birthday, we're taking a look back at her glamorous style.
