We spend lots of time focusing on what stars wear (and any wardrobe malfunctions they may have), but what about what they put on their faces? There's been a lot of celebrity news this week and although makeup may not seem all that important, plenty of women won't leave home without it.

In a survey, two-thirds of British women said that heading to the office bare-faced caused them more stress than public speaking, going on a first date or enduring a job interview. 91 percent of women surveyed would rather cancel a first date altogether than go without makeup on. And in the U.S., women spend around $7 billion on cosmetics every year.

And that doesn't even include hair. The AP recently reported that in 1950, about seven percent of women dyed their hair. Today? 95 percent or more.

With all that beauty-obsession (and our own love of makeup) in mind, we're taking a look at This Week In Beauty. From this week forward, we'll be showcasing the best, worst and most interesting styles of hair, makeup and nails that we came across this week. Take a look, get inspired and vote for your faves!

  • BEST: Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried attended the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2013 show during Paris Fashion Week on October 3rd with a makeup look we're totally in love with. Amanda often goes for risque looks on the red carpet but she usually keeps her make-up pretty girl-next-door. That's why we were pleasantly surprised by this sultry look. Her blonde locks were absolutely luscious and she went au naturale with her eyes to keep the emphasis on her vampy plum lips to great affect.

  • WORST: Katherine Heigl

Actress Katherine Heigl arrived at Variety's Power of Women Event on October 5th looking a little lackluster. Although Katherine has had some questionable beauty looks this one was just a little basic for someone that we know has the beauty to back up an edgy look. We encourage her to try a colorful lip and less heavy foundation to prevent that shiny look.

  • BEST: Queen Latifah

Queen Latifah attended Lifetime's "Steel Magnolias" after party event on October 3rd in New York City with a look that had us yelling, "All hail the queen!" Queen Latifah looks absolutely ageless with her perfectly executed winged eye liner and nude lip -- absolutely radiant. Her hair also looked gorgeous. Slicking it back in a bun was a good choice to balance out the heavier eye makeup and statement necklace. She worked it!

  • WORST: Rashida Jones

Rashida Jones attended Montblanc's 2012 Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award Ceremony on October 2nd with a look we're not completely sure about. We like that Rashida took a risk by trying out the ombre trend, but we're partial to her usual brunette locks. And her shaggy bangs obscured her adorable face. We think she looks smashing with that hot pink shade of lipstick, but matching your lipstick to your dress can be a bit tricky. Next time, Rashida!

  • BEST: Christy Turlington

Christy Turlington was glowing at The Tracy Anderson Method Pregnancy Project on October 5th in New York City. This '90s supermodel looks just as stunning as she did during her runway days. She said goodbye to summer with a bright coral lip and bronzed cheeks. So fresh!

  • WORST: Rachel Zoe

Style pro Rachel Zoe looked like she was off her game at the Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2013 show on October 3rd. It's never a good sign if your skin matches your copper locks. We say next time skip the tanning beds and put on less eyeliner. You'll be back on our best list in no time, Rachel.

  • BEST: Isabel Lucas

Actress Isabel Lucas attended the premiere of "Nobody Walks" on October 2nd looking absolutely breathtaking. She always takes risks with her look and this event was no different. We love that she isn't afraid of her strong brows and a strong lip. She used barely-there makeup and a side part to better showcase them.

  • WORST: Agyness Deyn

Agyness Deyn attended the gala screening of "Pusher" on October 4th in London looking less that her usual model self. The stunner and newlywed is definitely adventurous with her hair, but we think this time she might have missed the mark with this poodle-y do. Her crazy hair was matched with little make-up, leaving us confused.

  • BEST: Lydia Hearst

Actress and model Lydia Hearst sparkled at Variety's Power of Women Event on October 5th in Beverly Hills. Her bubblegum lipstick was absolutely dewy and paired with dark eyeliner and a perfectly executed waves her look was enviable. Can we call you for hair tips Lydia? We're dying to know your beauty secrets.

  • WORST: Anna Camp

Funny girl Anna Camp attended the premiere of "Nobody Walks" on October 2nd with makeup that didn't make us smile. The pretty actress should have used some loose powder to eliminate that shininess before she stepped in front of the paparazzis' harsh lights. Next time, Anna!
