The people (of Zagat) have spoken.

Over 18,000 diners voted in Zagat's 2013 Los Angeles Restaurants survey, ranking their picks of the best food, decor, service and chain restaurants Southern California has to offer. High end gourmet restaurants like Providence and Urasawa remain on the list, as well as popular fast food chains like In-N-Out. The "Best Food Trucks" category, now in its second year, won't shock anyone with picks like Kogi and Grill 'Em All.

However, 2013's "Best Newcomers" category is a welcome surprise and decidedly more casual compared to last year's winners (Cleo, Scarpetta and Red Medicine). While upscale tasting menu restaurant Ink leads the pack, diners will be pleasantly surprised at the more affordable new eateries that have captured the hearts of LA's fooderati.

Pick up a copy of Zagat's complete 2013 for Los Angeles and Southern California, and check out their picks for LA's best food, decor, service and most popular food trucks in the slideshow below.
