Maybe part of it is writing stories about exercise's benefits, which are myriad. Not only is exercise a powerful preventive measure against heart disease, diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure, it also works to slow age-related cognitive decline and even makes you smarter and less stressed out.
And of course, we must admit, vanity plays a part: We work out to look good. Whether it's getting a little color in your complexion or losing a few pounds, exercise's visible benefits do not go unnoticed.
