Recipe Of The Day: Linguine With Broccoli Rabe

Quentin Bacon/Food&Wine

If you think broccoli rabe is just an inferior form of broccoli, think again. Sure, it looks like a head of broccoli with fewer green clusters, but its flavor stands apart. Broccoli rabe is nutty. And when blanched, its delicate flavors come through. You don't need a fancy broccoli rabe recipe to enjoy this green, you just need this linguine and walnut pesto recipe.

This broccoli rabe recipe highlights the natural nuttiness of the green by pairing it with a walnut pesto. It's a little bit spicy (thanks to the red pepper flakes) and a bit creamy with the addition of pecorino.
