Pump Up Flat Hair With This Curling Iron Trick (VIDEO)

When you've established a styling routine that gives you your "best hair ever," it's sort of hard to switch things up -- even if it's for the benefit of actually having healthy hair.

In the video above, we meet Carole. She's forced her hair into submission over the years by blow-drying and flat ironing each morning, and worst of all, without using a heat protectant. Between Carole's overuse of heat styling tools, bad at-home hair color and choppy salon haircuts, she's in desperate need of a hair makeover.

Hair color specialist Renee Taglia intervenes first by enhancing her natural color with a rich chocolate shade that also eliminates greys. Then celebrity stylist Tyler Colton trims a few inches off of Carole's hair, bringing it up to her shoulders. He completes the look by blow-drying with a large paddle brush and wrapping small hair pieces around a one-inch curling iron to create beachy waves. The tousled curls play up Carol's natural hair texture, and will save her tons of time when getting ready in the mornings.

What do you think about Carole's hair transformation? Do you think she looks better with wavy or straight strands? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section.

Meanwhile, see how a keratin hair treatment saved this woman's date nights.
