Yankees manager Joe Girardi left Alex Rodriguez out of the lineup for games 3 and 4 of ALCS and has pinch-hit for him in playoff games that he started. Donald Trump would like the team to go even further when it comes to fading superstar. Trump continued his recent Anti-Rod campaign on Tuesday by urging the team to void his contract on the grounds that he didn't disclose his previous performance-enhancing drug use before signing.
"I would terminate his contract, personally," Trump said on The Michael Kay Show hours before New York's Game 3 loss. "I think George [Steinbrenner] would've done that. I would terminate his contract on the basis that when he signed, he didn't say that he took drugs."
The interview echoed statements Trump had made earlier in postseason on Twitter, when he suggested the Yankees bench Rodriguez since he seems to be unable to perform without PEDs.

"Since he signed his contract, they find out that he took drugs. It came out in Sports Illustrated. It came out in a couple other places," Trump told Kay. "He actually admitted he took drugs. Now he's not taking drugs anymore and without drugs, he's less than an average player."
Trump also took the opportunity to compare Rodriguez with Derek Jeter, calling out the embattled third baseman for his history of failing to deliver in big moments, especially when compared to Derek Jeter.
Of course, Trump also generated some attention for a tweet widely perceived as a dig at Jeter. After the Yankees' captain fractured his ankle, Trump suggested that the injury was the result of bad karma caused by his sale of an apartment at Trump Tower.
Rodriguez was benched before Game 3 of the ALCS for the second time this postseason. He's batting .130 (3 for 23) in the playoffs for a New York team that has struggled to score runs throughout October. The Yankees still owe him $114 million over five years for the remainder of his contract.
