We’ve all heard the term “no-brainer.” And that’s exactly what applies to Jessica Sanchez’ new gig on Glee. The American Idol runner-up’s got a great stage presence, an incredible voice and perfectly fits the age bracket for McKinley High.

So, Fox executives made a very shrewd move and booked Jessica for a multiple-episode arc on the show. Though details about her character are still under wraps, Glee producer Ryan Murphy sent a Twitter tease about big things to come.

“With voices like Jessica, Lea, Naya, Melissa, Amber, and Jenna…Streisand episode?” he wrote this week.

And don’t think that Ryan is stopping the stunt casting there. Rumors are also circulating that he’s cast legendary songstress Bette Midler for an undisclosed role.
