'Philly Justice': 'Parks And Recreation' Inside Joke Coming To Funny Or Die

'Philly Justice': 'Parks & Rec' Inside Joke Actually Happening

"Philly Justice," an elaborate inside joke amongst the stars of NBC's "Parks And Recreation," may be close to actually becoming a reality ... in the form of a Funny or Die video.

The running gag apparently began sometime during the filming of "Parks & Rec" Season 4 when somebody took a serious-looking picture of Amy Poehler, Adam Scott, Rashida Jones, Kathryn Hahn and Paul Rudd standing on courthouse steps that looked like it should be the poster of a cheesy legal procedural. Since then, as Poehler and "Parks" executive producer Mike Schur explained in the Paley Center video above, the show-that-never-was has taken on a life of its own, as the cast created a fictional backstory that "Philly Justice" was a pilot they shot together in 2003.

Now, according to a tweet from Dylan McDermott (who in Poehler's elaborate "Philly Justice" mythology was cast as a fill-in for Paul Rudd's fill-in Dermot Mulroney) the show will actually see the light of day on Funny or Die.

Funny or Die confirmed to HuffPost TV that the project is actually happening. If it's anywhere close to being as weirdly hilarious as Scott and Rudd's recent "Simon & Simon" mockumentary remake, it should be awesome.
