Paul Ryan Mistakes Colt McCoy For Brandon Weeden At Browns' Practice

There's been no shortage of media coverage surrounding Paul Ryan's athletic prowess. But on Wednesday, the Republican congressman added to the recent occurrences of vice presidential football flubs.

Ryan added to the quarterback controversy in Cleveland when he addressed the team at the Browns' practice while campaigning in Ohio.

The candidate pointed to backup quarterback and University of Texas at Austin alum Colt McCoy, praising him for his years at Oklahoma State -- a compliment clearly meant for starter Brandon Weeden. Upon realizing his mistake, Ryan laughed it off, telling Weeden, "You always had your helmet on," NESN notes.

The gaffe was a hit in the locker room, with linebacker Scott Fujita tweeting a photo of his teammates' amused faces.

Perhaps the vice presidential candidate should limit his athletic endeavors to P90X training.
