After more than four decades as an actress, Susan Sarandon could easily rest on her laurels. But she's hard at work: Sarandon has a series of buzzy new movies coming out the next few months, and her zest for life and great humor were on display Monday afternoon on "Katie." Along with chatting about her well-documented love of ping pong (Sarandon owns three ping-pong nightclubs) and thoughts on marriage, Sarandon spoke with Katie Couric about her early career.
The actress said she likes herself more at 66 than when she was a fresh-faced ingenue in the early 70s. "I think I was in a coma for the first 10 years of my career anyway," Sarandon said, laughing. "When you look at yourself younger, before you really made some really great mistakes, you just don't have the character you have when you get older."
