On Wednesday, Cooking Light announced the winners of its Trailblazing Chef Awards. There are some seriously talented chefs in the mix; the magazine chose them on the basis of things they've done in the realms of culinary preservation, global flavor, healthy cooking and more.
In a release, Cooking Light editor Scott Mowbray commented on the changing role of the chef:
“There’s been a wild rise in the prestige of the committed local chef -- those who are knitting together local food producers, reaching into the global pantry, creating new dishes, and helping this country invent its own food culture."
