Even presidents need a sugar fix first thing in the morning sometimes. That much seemed true today, when President Obama landed in Tampa at 6:43 a.m. and promptly took off for a Krispy Kreme donut store about 10 minutes from the airport. Where he ordered three dozen donuts!

The president shook hands with early morning patrons, bought jelly donuts for two children and then dropped off the donuts at a local fire station. Well played, Obama. Well played.

Buzzfeed has a report from the White House pool report written by Agence France-Presse's Stephen Collinson with more details.
