'The Houstons: On Our Own' Premiere: Bobbi Kristina Turns To Wine To Deal With Her Grief (VIDEO)

'The Houstons': Bobbi Kristina Drinks After Visiting Cemetery

Whitney Houston's death impacted people around the world, but the new reality series "The Houstons: On Our Own" chronicles the toll it took on her immediate family. Of particular interest to fans was how Houston's daughter with Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina, would deal with her mother's death.

Losing a mother at any age is difficult, but Krissy -- Bobbi Kristina's nickname -- was still a teenager when Houston suddenly passed away. The new series followed her first trip to see her mother's tombstone in the cemetery, which proved very emotional.

But, like many young people, Krissy wasn't prepared to deal with those emotions, and she was later seen drinking wine back at the house during a family dinner. Her aunt didn't approve, but tried to be there for her niece.

"You know you are not allowed to drink," she whispered. "You know I’m here for you if you need to talk."

It was an uncomfortable scene in a show some critics aren't even sure should exist. The Daily Beast felt the series was too soon after Houston's death , and that it was "disturbingly intrusive."

What did you think of "The Houstons: On Their Own," and will you keep tuning in on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime?
