Antonio Brown Punt Return GIF: Steelers WR Runs Backwards For Touchdown (That Doesn't Count)

10/29/2012 10:11 am ET

According to the game officials, this apparent punt return touchdown scored by Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was called back due to an illegal block above the waist. Despite the call, you could understand why Redskins supporters might insist it was negated just because Antonio Brown was being a jerk.

Either way, we've learned that there is apparently only one way to look like more of a spotlight-craving showboat than backpedaling for 20 yards to finish a 78-yard touchdown return: Doing so when the play doesn't even count.

Not surprisingly, Brown was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct on the play. But that penalty was declined as the illegal block was enforced

Even without this touchdown (and with whatever bad karma it may have produced), the Steelers went on to win 27-12.

Brown wasn't the only Steelers wide receiver to draw the ire of the opposition. Pittsburgh wideout Emmanuel Sanders got tangled up with Deangelo Hall on a play that led to the Washington corner's ejection.
