CBS News' Chip Reid Hit By Huge Wave During Hurricane Sandy

Reporter Hit By Massive Wave

CBS News national correspondent Chip Reid was hit by a massive wave while reporting on Hurricane Sandy on Monday morning.

Reid was one of scores of reporters out on East Coast beaches as Hurricane Sandy approaches. He told "CBS This Morning" that his crew was scouting for higher ground when a "rogue wave" came roaring over the beach.

Reid showed footage of a six to eight-feet tall wave that came crashing toward them. He said that the camera was "the only thing that did not go down in the foot or two of water" where they were standing.

"Whatever respect you think you need to give a hurricane, give a little bit more," he told Charlie Rose.
