Sesame Street Hurricane Episode: How To Explain Sandy To Little Kids (VIDEO)

If Hurricane Sandy has you stuck inside with little kids and you're already going stir crazy, never fear: Big Bird, Elmo, Gordon and all your favorite Sesame Street friends are here.

Children's Television Workshop has released a special hurricane episode that's available on the Sesame Street website (you and your children can watch the first segment above).

The perks of the episode are many: It is intended to help explain to children what a hurricane actually is, includes helpful preparedness advice, and will keep the kids busy for one whole hour. Also, chickens predict the weather and Kermit delivers all "special reports."

When you're done watching, tell us what else your family is doing to pass the time indoors using #ParentsVsSandy. Take a look at our ideas below -- and stay safe!
