  • Suri Cruise

Since parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/29/tom-cruise-katie-holmes-divorce_n_1638050.html">announced their split</a> in June 2012, the media has kept close tabs on daughter Suri -- even going so far as to <a href="http://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20120911/chelsea/suri-cruises-first-day-of-school-sees-paparazzi-flock-chelsea">follow the youngster</a> to her New York City <a href="http://www.lifeandstylemag.com/entertainment/news/katie-holmes-enrolls-suri-avenues-40000-year-private-school">private school</a>. But dad clearly does not approve of the intense media scrutiny that his family has faced in the wake of their divorce. In October 2012, Tom Cruise <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/tom-cruise-filed-lawsuit-suri-court/story?id=17563270#.UIsEf2mfF4U">filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit</a> against Bauer Publishing -- the company behind gossip magazines such as Life & Style and In Touch -- for printing stories claiming that the "Mission Impossible" actor <a href="http://1-ps.googleusercontent.com/x/www.thehollywoodgossip.com/assets.thehollywoodgossip.com/photos/xlarge_p/wkourtney-kardashian-on-life-and-style.jpg.pagespeed.ic.Uma1ogwyiJ.webp">"abandoned" his daughter.</a>

  • Ireland Baldwin

Ireland Baldwin's famous parents Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/story?id=5832850&page=1#.UIsKG2mfF4X">finalized their divorce</a> in 2002, but their <a href="http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20144854,00.html">bitter custody battle</a> lasted much longer than that. In 2007, a <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2007/04/22/alecs-threatening-message/">nasty voicemail</a> that the "30 Rock" actor had left for his then-11-year-old daughter was leaked to the press. In the message, Baldwin famously called his daughter <a href="http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/18220258/ns/today-entertainment/t/angry-voice-mail-baldwin-goes-public/#.UIsLnmmfF4U">"a rude, thoughtless little pig."</a> Baldwin's visitation rights were <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2007/04/22/alecs-threatening-message/">temporarily suspended</a> as a result. He later <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20037116,00.html">apologized on "The View"</a> and added that the angry tirade was the result of <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20037116,00.html">"deep and seemingly endless frustration"</a> with his ex.

  • Preston and Jayden Federline

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline -- parents to Preston and Jayden Federline --<a href="http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/life/people/2007-07-30-spears-federline_N.htm?csp=34&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+usatoday-LifeTopStories+(Life+-+Top+Stories)"> finalized their divorce</a> in July 2007 after nearly <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,700364,00.html">three years of marriage.</a> In a bizarre January 2008 custody dispute, Spears <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20169330,00.html">refused to hand the boys over</a> to Federline after her scheduled visitation time was up and instead, <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20169330,00.html">locked herself in a bathroom</a> with her youngest son. Spears, who police at the scene said appeared to be <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1578990/britney-spears-hospitalized-after-domestic-incident.jhtml">"under the influence of an unknown substance,"</a> was later hospitalized for a medical evaluation. At the end of the month, the pop star was <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/britney-spears-forcibly-committed-psychiatric-ward-article-1.341270">forcibly committed to a psych ward</a> at the UCLA Medical Center.

  • Sam and Lola Sheen

After an <a href="http://www.hollywood.com/news/Richards_and_Sheen_Back_Together/3467144">on-again-off-again</a> marriage, Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen announced they were <a href="http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/life/people/2006-01-04-sheen-richards-divorce_x.htm">going forward with their divorce</a> in January 2006. The <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,299100,00.html">messy split</a> was <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,1564496,00.html">finalized later that year</a> in November 2006. Amid a 2008 custody battle, reports circulated that <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2008/06/10/charlie-and-denise-battle-over-needles/">Sheen and Richards were at odds</a> over the girls' medical care. The former "Two and a Half Men" star reportedly refused to let his daughters <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,299100,00.html">receive routine vaccinations</a> because he believed them to be harmful to their health. In a sternly written letter to Sam and Lola's pediatrician (who apparently <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2008/06/10/charlie-and-denise-battle-over-needles/">sided with Richards</a> on this matter), Sheen's attorney made it clear that <a href="http://www.aolcdn.com/tmz_documents/0610_charlie_sheen_wm.pdf">he did not consent</a> to his daughters' treatment.

  • Zion and Zaire Wade

Zion and Zaire Wade's parents -- NBA star Dwyane Wade and his high school sweetheart Siohvaughn Funches-Wade -- <a href="http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2010-06-25-dwyane-wade-divorce_N.htm">finalized their acrimonious divorce</a> in June 2010. Two years later, Funches-Wade's was <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-57456824-504083/siohvaughn-funches-wade-ex-wife-of-nba-star-dwyane-wade-arrested-for-attempted-child-abduction-police-say/">arrested for attempted child abduction</a> after she refused to hand over the children to Wade's sister once her scheduled visitation was over. When one of the police officers tried to take her into custody, Funches-Wade reportedly tried to <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-57456824-504083/siohvaughn-funches-wade-ex-wife-of-nba-star-dwyane-wade-arrested-for-attempted-child-abduction-police-say/">leave the house without the children</a>. Her ex-husband attempted to legally <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/19/dwyane-wade-custody-siohvaughn-arrest-sons_n_1609844.html">suspend her visitation rights</a> after the incident.
