Jimmy Kimmel Interviews David Letterman For Full Show In Brooklyn (VIDEO)

David Letterman was a rare talk show guest on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday, and it was easily the highlight of Kimmel's week of Brooklyn shows. Hell, it may even have been the highlight of Kimmel's life.

Introducing Letterman as "not only the main reason I got into television, he is the main reason I got a television," Kimmel brought Dave out and went into hero worship mode. Simultaneously flattered and embarrassed, Dave seemed genuinely moved by the fact that Kimmel's childhood idolization (photos are shown of a birthday cake and custom license plate that reveal his fandom) resulted in Kimmel hosting his own talk show years later.

Kimmel had been a guest on Letterman's program before, but this was the first time he got to interview the "Late Show" host.

At one point, Kimmel attempts to pry into Letterman's personal life, which the notoriously private talk show host refuses to entertain. He does, however, wish Kimmel luck when his show moves to 11:30 p.m. in the coming months, a timeslot that has been occupied only by talk shows hosted by Letterman and "The Tonight Show" for the last two decades.
