Antiscience, Science Policy, Pseudoscience In Politics On 'The Point' By The Young Turks (VIDEO)

On the eve of one of the most divisive elections in modern history, the conversation strays from international affairs to the economy to health care. But the scientific underpinnings of many political opinions we've heard this season are shaky at best.

I was recently asked to host an episode of "The Point," a YouTube show presented by The Young Turks. I could think of nothing more relevant to the political atmosphere we currently find ourselves in than antiscience in Washington.

From the blatantly unscientific statements made recently by Representatives Broun and Akin (both of whom serve on the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology) to the utter silence in the presidential debates about global climate change, science denialism and spin are rampant.

I hope you'll take the time to watch the video below and contribute your voice to this conversation in the comments section at the bottom of the page. Come on, talk nerdy to me!
