Idris Elba & Mumford & Sons Team For 'Lover Of The Light' Video

WATCH: Idris Elba Teams With Mumford & Sons

Idris Elba and Mumford & Sons: two great tastes that taste great together?

The dashing British star and the folk rock band have teamed up for a new music video for the song "Lover of the Light"; the track appears on the album "Babel," Mumford & Sons' sophomore release.

Elba, who is best known for his roles on "The Wire," "Luther" and in "Thor" (and perhaps "Takers," if you're feeling frisky), not only stars in the video (as a man who appears to be blind), but wrote and directed the clip as well.

"Babel" has been a smash hit for Mumford & Sons. The album sold 600,000 copies during its first week, a record for 2012 that stood until Taylor Swift obliterated it with the release of "Red." Elba, meanwhile, is one of the more beloved actors who haven't broken through just yet. He's routinely mentioned as a possibility to play James Bond, though that would have to wait until Daniel Craig is done with the role. (Craig will likely star in two more Bond films after "Skyfall.")

"I did a film with Idris [Elba] and he said that he met Barbara Broccoli [James Bond producer] and that it does seem like there is a possibility in the future that there could very well be a black James Bond," Naomie Harris, who stars in "Skyfall," told HuffPost recently. "And I would have to vote for Idris because I just finished working with him and he's a great guy."
