Bob Menendez Election: Incumbent Faces Joseph Kyrillos In New Jersey Senate Race

In the New Jersey Senate race, Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Menendez is facing Republican New Jersey state Sen. Joseph Kyrillos. In the final days of the 2012 campaign season, Menendez was the subject of an “October Surprise” scandal story, in which it was alleged that the senator solicited the services of two prostitutes in the Dominican Republic and failed to pay them the amount they were owed. The Menendez campaign has called this a “completely false accusation.”

As of this writing, the HuffPost Pollster model has Menendez up 51.7-33.5 percent. Will the late-breaking allegations be the thing that gives Kyrillos the win? We are about to find out.

The Center For Responsive Politics has a list of the key contributors to each campaign.
