Below you can find the Illinois election results for the 2012 presidential election and the state's House races.
President Barack Obama, who formerly represented the state in the Senate, and polls leading up to Election Day suggested that he would carry the state, just as he did in 2008. At that time, Obama took a staggering 62 percent of the vote.
This year, over 900,000 people opted to vote early in Illinois, including the president, according to the Associated Press. It's unclear whether early voting favored one party or another.
Also up for grabs this year are 19 House of Representative seats, though only four to six of them could be considered tossups. Republican losses in the House could be substantial as far as Illinois is concerned, though most Democratic incumbents seem to have a firm grasp on their seats, according to pre-Election Day polls.
