Katie Holmes made her return to Broadway last night (Nov. 5), performing in the first preview of the play "Dead Accounts" at the Music Box Theatre in NYC. The 33-year-old actress locked lips with her co-star Josh Hamilton during the show, which will host its official opening night on Nov. 29.
In the play, Holmes portrays Lorna, a Cincinnati woman whose brother Jack returns home with a load of new money and a missing wife. According to People, Tom Cruise's ex-wife was applauded during her solo bow last night, followed by a standing ovation as the entire cast took a final bow together.
After the performance, Holmes and her castmates -- including Norbert Leo Butz, Judy Greer and Jayne Houdyshell -- went to a local restaurant before she took the subway home with her bodyguard by her side.
When asked what it was like to work with Holmes, Hamilton remarked: "Are you kidding me? She's a sweetheart."
