Nia Long Advocates For Women's Rights Through Sojourner Truth's 'Ain't I A Woman' (VIDEO)

As today officially marks this year’s presidential Election, various issues are on the line in choosing our country’s commander in chief.

One particular topic that many citizens have voiced their opinion on is women’s rights in America, and of the many advocating for the cause is Nia Long. The acclaimed actress recently appeared on the latest installment of THNKR original YouTube series PODIUM, where she recites Sojourner Truth's historic 1851 speech, “Ain't I A Woman."

“Our country is in the midst of big change. For women, there are plenty of topics on the table and when I think of where we were in 1851, I think this speech still resonates with where we are today.”
