Black Belt Beats 6-Year-Old Nephew To Death For Not Following Orders: Cops

A 6-year-old boy is dead after his uncle beat him for 45 minutes when he didn't get his clothes for school ready fast enough, cops said.

Staff at the medical examiner's office in Delaware County, Pa. said they had not seen a more savage beating than the one allegedly delivered by Paul Adams, district attorney Jack Whelan told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

On Thursday night, police said Adams, 38, said he picked up Tyreece Charlow from school and the two went to karate class together. Adams is a fourth-degree black belt in karate, the Inquirer said.

When they returned home, Adams said he set a timer and told Charlow he had three minutes to get everything ready for tomorrow, including picking out his clothes. When Charlow didn't get his chores done in time, police said Adams beat him, first with a small belt and then with a larger one, holding the child's hands down while he struck him.

“We also have reason to believe, due to the physical injuries, that it was beyond a belt beating,” Whelan said, according to NBC Philadelphia. “That his uncle utilized his hands, and/or feet, to kill this child.”

When he finished beating Charlow, police said Adams poured peroxide on the child’s wounds, then put him to bed, according to the Delaware County News network.

When Adams checked on Charlow several hours later, he told police the child had “a brown liquid” coming out of his mouth and was unresponsive. Adams drove him to the Crozer-Chester Medical Center where he was eventually pronounced dead.

Adams was charged with first and third-degree murder, criminal homicide and possessing instruments of crime.
