Steve Blake Fined $25,000 For Cursing At Fan During Lakers-Clippers Game (VIDEO)

Laker Guard Fined For Fan Confrontation

Los Angeles Lakers Guard Steve Blake has been fined $25,000 for cursing at a fan sitting in the front row during last Friday's game against the Clippers, as first reported by Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

According to ESPN Los Angeles, the initial confrontation occurred when the fan told Blake, "You need to knock down those open shots." Blake responded after fouling out with 29.2 seconds to go in the fourth and his team trailing by 10, walking all the way across the court in order to address the fan.

Blake ended up with more turnovers (three) than assists (two) as the Clippers went on to win 105-95.

Frustrations are high in Laker Land with the team off to a disappointing 1-3 start. It may be safe to say that expectations haven't quite been met after an offseason that included the marquee acquisitions of both Steve Nash and Dwight Howard.

But perhaps a couple more wins will lighten the mood of Lakers fans.

UPDATE: Blake apologized to the fan in person, inviting him and his father to Lakers practice on Tuesday. According to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times, the fan's father is sneaker mogul and long-time floor-seat occupant Steve Jackson, the chairman of L.A. Gear whose mansion features a life-size replica of Staples Center that the team often uses for pre-draft workouts.
