West Virginia Election Results 2012: Presidential And House Winners (REAL-TIME MAP)

Below you can find the West Virginia election results for the 2012 presidential election and the state's House races.

West Virginia has been reliably red since 2000. Despite showing a little sign of vulnerability there prior to the election in 2008, GOP presidential candidate John McCain ended up running away with the state, beating President Barack Obama by about 13 percentage points.

However, on the state and federal level, West Virginia leans Democratic, largely because the party there distances itself from the rest of the Democratic leadership. This year, incumbent Sen. Joe Manchin, the state's former governor who came into office in 2010 following a special election, seemed to hold a steady lead against Republican challenger Joe Raese, in a repeat performance of their 2010 match-up. Machin won that contest by over 10 points and was leading in the polls by a sizable margin heading into Election Day.
