The cast of the Chicago run of one of Broadway's hottest tickets in recent history was announced Thursday, about a month out from its first previews at the Bank of America Theatre.

According to the Chicago Tribune's Chris Jones, Nic Rouleau, current star of the show's Broadway residency, will headline the Chicago run as Elder Price. He will be joined by Ben Platt ("Pitch Perfect") as Elder Cunningham, the second of two young Mormon missionaries assigned to northern Uganda -- with hilarious results -- in the satirical musical.

Chicago actor and Steppenwolf Theatre ensemble member James Vincent Meredith will also be featured in the run and has been cast as Mafala Hatimbi in the Chicago production of the Tony-winning show, composed by South Park co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Tickets to the production, which begins previews Dec. 11, have sold out through March 3, causing the recent extension of the show through June 2. The full length of the show's Chicago run has not yet been finalized.
