Ernie Button's Cerealism Series: Turning Cereal Into Art (PHOTOS)

Posted: Updated:

We thought the best thing to do with sugary cereals was to eat them for a not-so-nutritious breakfast, but it looks like we were wrong. Ernie Button, an art photographer from Phoenix, had a better idea: to immortalize them in beautifully eerie "Cereal-scapes."

Button noticed that cereals resembled "some of the shapes and colors and textures of the southwestern desert" that surround him, inspiring him to construct landscape images with cereal as the subject and imposing enlarged photographs of the Arizona sky as the background. The result is a successfully supernatural feel.

Our favorite image: Cheerios as the pyramids. We always knew they were epic.
