Kate Gosselin is so determined to return to reality TV that she is funding her own pilot, hoping that a cable network will like what it sees and green-light her new show.
“I know three different cable networks that have passed on making a pilot with Kate,” one network insider tells me. “Kate and her children are a known TV quantity -- it's an easy yes or no.”
As the answer has so far has been a universal no, Gosselin has been forced to pay to produce the show herself and hopes once a network sees it, someone will bite.
“Many shows that have initially been denied funding and were self-produced went on to be major hits,” one producer tells me. “‘Jersey Shore’ and Oxygen’s new reality show ‘Girl Confidential’ were all produced on spec. The difference is both of these shows involved unknowns that needed to prove themselves on camera. At this point, we know everything about Kate.”
Robert Hoffman, author of “Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled The World,” says Kate even reached out to another reality star mom, Kendra Wilkinson, to tape a potential new show about moms swapping kids.
Speaking of Hoffman, the writer behind the controversial tell-all has been silenced, having recently discovered that all the posts on his website have been removed.
“Someone removed everything,” Hoffman tells The Huffington Post.
This is not the first time the author has been stopped. A few months ago, Kate’s lawyers were successful in removing his ebook about Kate from Amazon.
Neither Kate nor Kendra’s reps returned calls for comment.
