"Nashville" will stick around for a full season. ABC announced it has ordered additional episodes of the series starring Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere.
Following the country music scene, "Nashville" was one of the best-reviewed pilots of the fall TV season. The show premiered to about 9 million viewers -- close to 12.5 million when DVR viewing was factored in -- but has slipped in the ratings since. The most recent episode had 6.1 million viewers.
According to ABC, "Nashville" averages a higher rating (3.2) than in the 18-49 demographic than "CSI" (3.1) and "Chicago Fire" (2.4) on Wednesdays at 10 p.m.
"Nashville" joins another new show "The Neighbors," which has has also received a full season pick-up from ABC. "Last Resort" and "666 Park Avenue" received additional script orders, but that doesn't guarantee they will be produced.
Friday night newcomer "Malibu Country" has also just received additional script orders following an impressive debut.
"Nashville" airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
