'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' Full Soundtrack Already Online

Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" won't be released for another month, but the full soundtrack for the upcoming fantasy-adventure film is already streaming.

Empire Online first posted the full "Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" soundtrack on Tuesday. Howard Shore, who has composed scores for a multitude of box office hits, including "Hugo," "Twilight: Eclipse," "The Departed," "Lord of the Rings," "Gangs of New York" and "Crash," once again worked with Jackson on the soundtrack.

"You'll hear very specific echoes of elements from that work throughout the whole album, giving this a clear link to our first adventures in Middle-earth, but there are new themes here for the new characters too," notes Empire's Helen O'Hara.

Due to copyright concerns, the widget only allows listeners to stream the album in full, not skip from track to track.

The "Hobbit" soundtrack will be released on Dec. 11, but pre-orders are currently available on Amazon.

On Monday, Rolling Stone released the full recording of Neil Finn's "Song of the Lonely Mountain," which will play over the end credits of the first "Hobbit" installment.

Finn revealed how intrinsic music is to the film's core. "'The Song of the Lonely Mountain' was developed from a dark and mysterious theme which the dwarves sing early in the movie," Finn told Rolling Stone. Jackson and his team got into a "dwarven state of mind" while developing the song, which features his sons Elroy and Liam.

"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," which tells the story of Bilbo Baggins' journey to Lonely Mountain, will hit theaters on Dec. 14.
