Friday marks the two-year anniversary of Kate Middleton and Prince William formally announcing their engagement. Or as we like to call it, the BEST DAY EVER.
Surely you remember all the iconic details of November 16, 2010: the surprise announcment, the elegant setting, the future Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posing for photo after photo in the State Apartments at St. James Palace, closely followed by the glowing official Mario Testino engagement portraits.
In honor of the two-year anniversary, here are the most iconic three things we remember about that exciting day:
- That Issa dress. Kate's navy blue wrap dress sparked an immediate frenzy, as the frock, costing $535, quickly sold out in stores and online. The Issa madness marked the beginning of the so-called "Kate effect," where basically anything Catherine wears sells out immediately as women clamor to get their hands on duchess-sanctioned trends. (Kate's sister Pippa even wore a version of it.)

Despite the whole "famous royal" thing, Will & Kate are pretty down to earth...
