Thankful For Her: What Woman Are You Grateful For This Thanksgiving?

What Woman In Your Life Are You Thankful For This Year?

We all have one: A woman in our lives who said or did something that changed us, irrevocably, for the better. Maybe it was your ninth grade English teacher, who made you feel understood when no one else did. Maybe it was the unknown nurse who squeezed your hand during a procedure or the stranger who returned something you lost. You've been grateful to her for months or years and never had or taken the opportunity to tell her.

Now's your chance to do it, in front of the Internet and everyone. To show your gratitude, tweet a photo of her (or something that represents her) or post it to Instagram @HuffPostWomen using #thankawoman. You can also email your photo to us at women@huffingtonpost.com. If you want to include a few characters -- even sentences! -- about why you are so grateful for her and her influence, that would be even better.

Note: If you choose to thank the woman who gave you life, that's certainly valuable, but don't feel obligated to name your mom. This doesn't have to be a tribute the woman to whom you're most grateful -- just someone who had an effect that perhaps neither one of you realized at the time. Consider thanking someone who would never expect it, who perhaps doesn't even know how much she impacted who you are today. Isn't it time she knew?
