Talk about family bonding.
Liu Xianping, the most easygoing grandfather we've ever seen, has made headlines for modeling women's clothing for his granddaughter's boutique, a new store in China called Yuekou.
72-year-old Liu posed for numerous product shots on Yuekou's Tmall website (Tmall, explains OffBeatChina.com, is one of China's top online retailers). According to an interview with China Newsweek, the idea came out when Liu was helping his granddaughter, "Ms. Lu," unpack a shipment of new clothing. “He picked up one piece and tried to give some advice on how to mix and match. We thought it was fun so we started shooting,” she said.
And as it turns out, Liu was a natural. The photos were so great that they made it onto Yuekou's site, with Liu modeling almost every preppy, girly item -- scarves, leather bags, frilly socks, swingy coats, statement necklaces, oversized sunnies, the works. And apparently sales are skyrocketing.
