Get those credit cards ready!
Cyber Monday, the online equivalent to Black Friday, is finally upon us. So if you didn't wait in long lines for discounted televisions or tablet computers last week, now is the time to purchase those highly coveted items for a slightly lower price than you'd usually pay.
Hoping to find that tech-savvy friend of yours the perfect gift (for 10 percent off and with free shipping)? You're not alone. Cyber Monday is expected to be the biggest online shopping day of the year in 2012. According to comScore, consumers are expected to drop $1.5 billion on gift items -- more than 20 percent higher than last year's Cyber Monday spending spree. And this holiday, many of our favorite retailers are extending their deals, meaning online savings will be available throughout the next several days.
Whether you're shopping for the tech geek or the luddite in your life, you can find some of the best Cyber Monday deals at the following sites:
Amazon: The online retail behemoth is offering sales galore, many of which will last through the next several days for its Cyber Monday "Deals Week." (These savings are apparently too big for just one day.) Dr. Dre and Bose headphones are on sale, as well as Canon Powershot cameras and select DSLRs. The Kindle Fire tablet computer, normally priced at $159, will also be offered at $129 (but only on Cyber Monday). Click here to see all of the deals Amazon has to offer, or read more about Amazon's sale items from Huffington Post (here).
Walmart: This well-known retailer is offering Android tablets for $79, 32-inch LCD televisions for $189, video game bundles for $30, among other deals on furniture and must-have children's toys. The company's website is loaded with steals and even includes free shipping on select items (like this bargain-priced trampoline!).
Best Buy: The retail giant has extended its sale, making Cyber Monday a two-day event with "free $25 savings code with store pickup on purchases $250 or more." Want a sample of your possible savings? Select Samsung TVs are over $100 off, while the HP Envy Touch-Screen laptop is being offered $250 cheaper that the ticket price -- so start clicking!
Target - This store is promising "hot deals all Cyber Week long," from sleek cameras to durable vacuum cleaners. Video games are also highly discounted, with items like Disney Pixar's "Brave" Nintendo Wii game priced at a mere $18, down from $44. And, like Amazon, Target is also offering discounts on pricy headphones (that rarely go on sale).
Kohl's: Here's another chain with weeklong Cyber Monday specials, most of which end on Dec. 1. The website states there are over 300 deals available, and free shipping with no minimum purchase price. Patch also notes Kohl's is offering a Polaroid ultra-thin digital video recorder for $169.99, normally priced at $299.
TigerDirect: This site touts itself as a "direct source for the tech expert," and is offering free shipping for any purchase over $100. TigerDirect also breaks down gagets into easy-to-click categories, such as "Laptops," "Monitors," "Tablets," etc.
Kmart: This retailer is offering free shipping for orders $49 or more, as well as price cuts on a slew of televisions. And don't forget to check out the toy section on this site! Several doll houses are nearly $100 cheaper with this Cyber Monday special, while select Little Tikes toys are 20 percent off. All offers will last through Tuesday, Nov. 27.
Barnes & Noble : If you purchase a Nook eReader online with a Master Card on Cyber Monday, a $20 Barnes & Noble gift card will be included in your purchase. You'll also be able to save 50 percent off select books, and 60 percent off hundreds of DVDs and Blu-Rays.
Apple : There aren't any discounts on Apple products (unsurprisingly) for Cyber Monday, but the Cupertino-based company will be offering free shipping on orders over $50, now through Dec. 21. Hey, every little bit counts!
