"Downton Abbey" has become quite the sensation, both in the US and its native UK. PBS gave American fans a taste of what British fans have been enjoying in the show's third season during "Downton Abbey Revisited." The episode served mostly as a refresher for what has come before during the show's first two seasons, but did offer some glimpses ahead.
One of the most highly anticipated additions in the third season is Shirley MacLaine. She joined the cast as Lady Cora's overbearing American mother, Martha.
In one scene shown, it was immediately apparent just how much she was going to try and dominate everything she saw and touched. Should make for some great tension in Downton.
The new season doesn't premiere until January 6 on PBS, but fans can look forward to it knowing that it's getting rave reviews overseas. Even better, with strong ratings as well, "Downton Abbey" has already been commissioned for a fourth series.
