Neil Patrick Harris Will Help With Christmas Tradition

WASHINGTON -- Neil Patrick Harris will help light the National Christmas Tree next week. The award-winning Broadway and television actor will be the master of ceremonies for the 90th annual tree lighting ceremony, set for Dec. 6.

Additionally, the double-platinum band The Fray, multiple Grammy® winning singer/songwriter Jason Mraz, and Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter/producer Ledisi will join singer James Taylor, ten-time Grammy winner singer/songwriter/producer Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, two-time Grammy® winner Colbie Caillat and American Idol Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips to perform a collection of holiday favorites along with a special guest appearance by Modern Family actor Rico Rodriguez.

The ceremony will take place just south of the White House on the Ellipse and will be broadcast on public television throughout the month of December. The ceremony will be livestreamed starting at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 6.

The Capitol Christmas Tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 4.
