No other beauty product has made waves this year like BB creams did. That is, until about a week or so ago when word of CC creams started to spread. I guess we have something to look forward to in the new year, but back to where all the hype started.

BB creams (short for "beauty balm" or "blemish balm") have been popular among Korean and Japanese women since the '80s for their multi-purpose benefits. And with so many people's interest in Asian skincare, it's no surprise that brands like Garnier, Smashbox and Maybelline debuted their own BB creams to correct uneven skin tone, minimize oiliness, reduce wrinkles and offer extra sun protection.

Click through the slideshow below for the seven best BB creams of 2012, including our take on what makes these "miracle" products so darn great!

The "Best Beauty Products Of 2012" covers the top cosmetics, skin care and hair products out of the hundreds that have crossed our editors' desks this year. Winners are chosen through expert analysis based on quality, value and efficacy. Want to nominate your favorite product?
