With the arrival of December, Christmas music is pretty much inescapable. Whether it's "Jingle Bells" playing at the grocery store or "Here Comes Santa Claus" on the radio, holiday music is everywhere. But the one song that is getting just a little bit more play than the rest? Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You."
In 1994 the R&B diva lent her powerhouse vocals to the holiday tune and "All I Want for Christmas Is You" has been seemingly on repeat ever since. Billboard released the first 2012 Holiday Songs Chart this week, and once again Mimi's Christmas hit topped the list.
Carey's rendition of "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is met on the holiday charts by other festive favorites including Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas to You)," and Burl Ives' "A Holly Jolly Christmas."
For those wanting a change of pace from the Christmas classics, The Killers just released a slightly unorthodox holiday jam. Titled "I Feel It In My Bones," the song will hit iTunes on Dec. 4.
Rolling Stone reports that "I Feel It In My Bones" was recorded by The Killers on a day off in the middle of the band's U.K. tour. All proceeds from the song will go to (RED). The song was teased early on Saturday in recognition of Dec. 1 as World AIDS Day.
